he doesn't have malkin and crosby around him so his presence is magnified more while his talent level has always been a marginal 2nd line player but he is more suited and comfortable as a 3rd line player. it was a stupid trade by carolina who overpaid in personnel and picks to pittsburgh and then overpaid on his contract. you guys won that one hands down, sutter is a solid defensive forward who can score a little bit and you got a high 1st round pick. nice work by your gm to get above market value for a 3rd line forward who happens to have a famous last name. the order of staal higherarchy is eric, mark, jordan, jared.
